Quality of service : Have not had the survey done yet as , with both companies they were unable to fit it in to the diary until 3/4 March.
Value for money : Both quotes were of a similar amount and for a similar date , so I decided on KWD as I received a personal reply from one of the Partners.

Quality of service : Once the surveyors visit had been booked in, the service was good and thorough. The surveyors visit went well and Graham was personable and friendly which was very much appreciated. I was told the report would take a week to be completed and I would then have the report and my architect plans returned to me. Ten days later and I had had no response or heard from the surveyors with regard to my report. I chased this up on a Thursday and was told I would have the report the following Monday. This date has come and gone and I have heard nothing from the surveyor and am still awaiting my drawings and the report back.
Value for money : Unable to comment as the report quality cannot be judged as I am still waiting for it to materialise well over a week after I was told I would have it.
Professionalism : Communication has been lacking and unclear. Any sort of understanding or order has only been achieved through my own efforts chasing up reports and people which isn't good enough.

The surveyor made an appointment, handled everything with the estate agents, the seller, which was by now upset with me. He was a saviour.
Quality of service : As I have a structural background, I understand What is required. I explained what I wanted, we didn't require a mortgage and I didn't want the standard survey. I wanted a general check and the areas as the loft checked.
Value for money : It was an extremely fair priced service.
Professionalism : He was amazing and also had to deal with the upset seller. He picked up on a difficult situation and handled it with the greatest care. I would recommend the surveyor and company and would use the again in the future. You website worked very well too. I wished I used it in the first place. I also only paid after the survey, before the report, was guaranteed a service and not as before where I've seemingly lost the fee to a company which was not as advertised, regulated by the RICS and have pocketed my fees. A terrible financial loss.

The surveyor rang us the day after the survey with the most important findings and the full report followed a week later (New Year came in the middle). The report contained an estimate for the work which needed to be done, which was helpful. It also contained plans of what we might like to do with the property, so over and above what we expected.
Professionalism : The only thing that we found a little unprofessional was asking us to pay up front before the report could be released. In the past we have always received an invoice afterwards, but maybe this was due to it being an internet arrangement.

Professionalism : One week after the surveyor carried out their visit the seller cancelled their sale. I contacted the surveyor to tell them I no longer require the report but it was too late as they already visited the property. But they able to deduct £80 off the bill. Really appreciate it.

Having looked to see who is available and their location, I get 2 phone calls the first one was from KWD Chartered Surveyors about ½ hour after my initial enquiry. As a result it was this particular firm I chose, mainly because of their interest quickly. I received a phone call about an hour later from another company, but told them I had already found someone. I got Emails from the others in due course. I gave instructions to Graham Walker of KWD The work has been carried out but the report has yet to be done, I imagine owing to the Christmas and New year holidays I was impressed with the speed and interest your site generated, and in general it compared with the tv programme ‘HEIR HUNTERS' which shows a firm being the first to chase relatives for a possible inheritance they may receive. Within minutes I received a phonecall from Kane Walker Dodds offering to carry out the survey for a fee that was much less than the the estimate quoted on the website. The survey was carried out two days later. As soon as it was completed I received a phonecall from the surveyor providing me with the basic details. I did not have a chance to follow up any of the listed suppliers because one of the surveyors contacted me within a couple of hours - even though it was New Years Eve!! Another one left a message for me a few days later but as you might expect the first one got the job. The actual bill, including VAT, was just under the estimate for a specific survey. The survey (Graham Walker, of Kane, Walker, Dodds) has been carried out. He was very user friendly and explained everything in laymans terms leaving me in no doubt as to what was wanted.
