Supplier Feedback: I picked Paul as he had the best feedback for the most amount of reviews so statistically I was onto a winner. Paul was very personable and arranged for the survey at the beginning of the following week. He'd already looked up the property and could tell me the sort of things he'd be taking into consideration. He communicated with via email and phone calls and once the survey was complete he gave me a layman's review and left me to read the actual report at my leisure. I'm pleased to report there were no issues found but he did point out some ‘advisories' that, while not urgent, would need to be addressed. He proposed a rough idea of what it might cost me to resolve the issues and I was able to use that amount to determine if I wanted to negotiate with the seller. Promptness of response :  I must say Paul Fieldhouse at first said he was very busy and would not be able to do survey for at least another week,for some reason he telephoned back to say he would then do it before that time,it did make me think after the event it was maybe easy money!!
Quality of service :  I were very disappointed on a few things Paul Fieldhouse had said to me in the course of a telephone conversation, one being that I could phone him at any given time to discuss any part of the survey, after said survey I needed to know one or two points referring to survey, I tried ringing him at various times but to no avail, I left him Email message but nothing has ever come back to me, I find it all very poor quality of service that I paid £400.00 for and still no nearer to answers I had been awaiting.
Value for money :  The £400-00p i paid for a service i was not happy with was bad enough,but although we agreed on the price i later found on his website the fee was lower than he had me believe for same service!! There must be a professional ombudsman or some body a person can complain to on the way i feel i were misrepresented.We did ask Paul Fieldhouse if he would put in writing the value of house,he never did....WHY
Professionalism :  I do not find it professional when Paul Fieldhouse rings myself whilst he is conducting the survey at the house and asks me to ring HIM back to chat about survey,all he had to do was wait until he got home to ring me,i paid enough for the man to ring me back not vice versa,on the whole very disgruntled,disappointed and would not use his service again.

Thankfully Paul was looking after MY interests and not pandering to the Estate agents; he was more than accommodating and flexible - and we eventually secured an agreeable visit appointment.
Value for money :  Paul gave very good value for money - he was on the ball with various issues in the property and came back to me as soon as he left the property with a telephone run down with the issues and further actions needed. He quickly followed up with his full report and it was very thorough. He came back with (thankfully) mostly positive things about the property and a series of slight problems that would need quotes and attention.
Professionalism :  Paul was very professional. He had the run-around from the sellers estate agent and kept me informed with the daily dramas - but we eventually got him into the property. I wouldn't have blamed him if he cancelled the job - but he was more than accommodating and eventually was able to schedule an agreed appointment - although no surprise, the estate agent changed this at the 11th hour! Quality of service :  Paul was very thorough - phoned me to talk me through the key points from the survey immediately after he'd completed it and submitted the full report by email the same day. He was very open, spoke in lay terms and didn't use jargon. He was very responsive and helpful when I queried a couple of points and gave me the clarification I needed.
Value for money :  In comparison to most other surveyors, Paul provided excellent value for money. As it turns out, I wasted the money I spent as my mortgage lender's valuer down-valued the property and the vendor refused to drop the price and pulled out of the sale, so I'd paid for the survey for nothing! Very frustrating but nothing to do with Paul - just a learning point for me re. timing - get your mortgage valuation done before paying for your own survey...
Professionalism :  I will definitely use Paul again if the next property I find is within his geographical area.
