Professionalism :  Rod agreed to waive the full cost of the Building Survey provided so he did not have to produce it, when it became clear that I was not going to proceed with the purchase based on his survey. However, when I received his reduced invoice, he had added a £50 surcharge for 'travel expenses'. Rod provided a good service and it was greatly appreciated when he offered the reduced rate, albeit this would require much less work for him as well. But to then add an extra amount that had not been mentioned previously was, in my opinion, highly unprofessional. I was intending to use Rod's services for any subsequent property - but being told one thing and then doing another has certainly put me off. He said that the travel expenses would not have been added had I received the full service, but when you agree a price for any service, you stick to it. Not impressed at all by that. It seems that he allow himself to add whatever amount he wanted for travel expenses - given that they were never mentioned until I received the invoice.

Value for money :  Very impressed.Rod met me at the property after the survey to go through everything and in addition made 2 lengthy calls to me to discuss the issues raised on completion of his report. He felt very strongly that I was paying too much for the property even without the issues raised and suggested other alternatives.
