At Home2discover we can survey any age of residential property, from an apartment to a mansion, but we have a particular interest in older and listed properties, especially those over 100 years old. As members of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings our surveyors appreciate what makes an older building special and how it needs to be cared for to ensure it provides a comfortable home for many years to come.
Older buildings have character, but can also have problems, such as damp when not treated properly. We can advise you on the correct methods to make sure that the property is maintained in the most relevant way for its age.
As part of our survey we also consider the local environment and how this may have previously affected the property, how it may be causing problems now, and the issues likely to arise in years to come. We also offer advice on energy efficiency and energy-saving measures relevant to older properties.

Free estimates followed by a fixed price quotation based on your specific requirements, the age of the property, type, size, and the number of rooms. We are also happy to try and price match or better any estimate/quote you are given.
If you have specific projects, or intentions in mind, a feasibility study plus strategic, tactical, and practical guidance can be included free of charge on request. A prioritised schedule of works can also be supplied at no extra cost on request.

Having received a heart warming phone call for a brief chat about what I'm looking for, and the different surveys available we met on a fantastic price of £400 after he was willing to price match, and I can say it was £400 well spent. He was willing to talk via text message or phone no matter the time or would get back to me if he had missed my call. The detail in which he presented on the final survey was truly outstanding, a 13 page word document starting from the local area to a full report on the property itself, which was easy to read and understand as I don't have knowledge on the Building profession, and this put me at ease with each part of the house that he reported on. Upon the completion of the report, again he was willing to chat as I had some final questions. Very professional and very good at his job. Would certainly recommend to anybody looking for a thorough detailed professional survey 5/5.
