To keep us feeling fit and healthy we need good quality air. The air around us is predominantly nitrogen which is an inert gas that besides taking up space does very little else. Oxygen is the next most abundant gas and this is essential for animal life. Carbon dioxide is less abundant and is essential for plant life. Animals take in oxygen and produce carbon dioxide while plants take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. In addition to these gases there are many other substances present in the air that we breath and some of these are toxic. Provided the levels of these toxic substances remain very low then our bodies can cope and we will not suffer from any resulting health problems.
Unfortunately many of the materials in our buildings contain toxic substances such as PVC, organic solvents and synthetic fibres. Many of the cleaning products used in everyday life also contain toxic and harmful chemicals. Good ventilation will help to minimise the levels of these substances but sometimes this is not adequate.
An air quality test will analyse in detail, the air quality of your home, office, shop, pub or restaurant. The test will identify air quality issues such as low oxygen, high carbon dioxide and damaging levels of carbon monoxide. Detection of hazardous levels of cancer causing VOCs, moulds, spores and damp. Measurement of radon levels, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, aldehydes and many more. Sources of pollution can often be identified such as faulty appliances, dirty or unserviced ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
Whether you are a householder or parent wanting to check that your interior air is safe for your family, or a professional or employer wanting to provide the best environment for your staff, patrons and customers, a report will help you. You will be able to make informed decisions about if and how your health and the health of those around you is being influenced by interior air pollution and ensure that you meet legislation.
To obtain contact details of experts who cover your area and can provide air quality surveys and reports, please fill in the details above. We will instantly give you a list of people who can help you so that you can contact them directly.
