Surveys on Historic Buildings. Archaeological Field Studies.
For historic buildings and sites of archaeological interest you may wish to obtain specialist advice from experts.
One initial source of contact would be your District Archaeologist who should be contactable through your County Council
information service.
If you require a detailed survey of an historic building or a site investigation you may need to contact a
company specialising in this field.
Wessex Archaeology is one of the largest archaeological practices
in the country. They were set up as a trust in 1979 and
they provide a wide range of services across the whole of the UK. Not only do they carry out building surveys on
historic properties but they also cover excavations, underwater archaeology, coastal studies, human remains analysis,
production of academic publications and specialist illustration and computer modelling.
